Shakira Reveals If She Still Believes In Love Following Gerard Piqué Split

Shakira is revealing if her split from Gerard Piqué changed her view on love. The pair announced their separation in June 2022 after 12 years together. Following the split, things got messy with Shakira accusing her ex of cheating. Now, the Latin superstar is telling Marie Claire UK how her perspective on love has changed over the years. "Deep down, I always thought having a husband was the most important thing in my life,” she told the outlet. “I was in search for that man like my dad, who I'd have kids with and then make plans to be with forever – like my parents, who are still so in love… But sometimes things don’t go as planned. You move on." But just because she hasn’t met the one yet, that doesn’t mean she’s completely stopped believing in love. "I cannot say that I don’t believe in love because I see the example of my parents after 50 years together,” she said. “I’ve witnessed love, I just haven’t been that lucky myself.”
