Quincy McKnight, a first-team all-Northeast Conference selection this past season, will transfer from Sacred Heart. McKnight, a 6-foot-3 guard, averaged 18.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game as a sophomore for the Pioneers. Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel acknowledged there were “a few" candidates other than Michigan Tech coach Mel Pearson that he considered for Michigan's hockey coach opening. Pearson, an assistant coach at Michigan for 23 seasons, was ultimately offered the job and was introduced at a news conference this afternoon in Ann Arbor.
