General Manager Steve Kerr amped up the Phoenix Suns' feud with the San Antonio Spurs a bit last week when Brent Barry (you would have thought he was an MVP candidate the way teams were chasing him when he was bought out by Seattle) said he'd re-sign with the Spurs.

Kerr suggested on a Phoenix radio station it seemed to smell of an illegal, prearranged deal with Seattle GM Sam Presti, a former Spurs executive. "I think maybe there was something behind the scenes there," Kerr told KTAR-AM 620. "If I'm Seattle, I'm not going to let Barry go, I'm going to let Donyell Marshall go. Brent's a guy who is much more productive. Donyell Marshall doesn't have much more left in the tank. Sam Presti used to be in San Antonio as an assistant. Who knows? I don't have any proof."

Last season, while a broadcaster and a Suns minority owner, Kerr questioned Amare Stoudemire's suspension while Tim Duncan was not penalized for leaving the bench earlier in the game. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was furious at Kerr, a former Spur, and told him privately that Kerr had too many hats on — broadcasting and ownership.

Hmm....I'm seeing a little bit of similarity in the way Bill Belichick and Greg Popovich run their teams.

So lets change the subject of the Shaq trade huh? Lets think about something other than how bad the Suns are doing right now. The coach needs to give direction to the team to get them coordinated.
Kerr- help your coach get things back on track with the team !

Steve, So you think that having Brent Barry would make or break your team ? People are always ridiculing the old players of San Antonio, now one of those old players is hurting the Suns chances? Come on, lets get real. Brent is a good guy who does tons of charity work in SA.

Lets get out the tissues and the chocolate and maybe a gallon of ice cream. This should help eleviate the anguish of another lose to the Spurs. The Suns have been making excuses for the past three years, bottom line, the Spurs are better! Defense wins titles, not scoring, and not an old plodding big man. Steve Kerr needs to shut up and enjoy an entertaining, but losing, first round of the playoffs

hahahaha! the spurs just did it again to the suns! whoopeee!!! so much for all the "championship talk" shaq gave when he came to phoenix. quit dreaming shaq! your no longer the "man". you won in miami coz of d-wade not you. hey kerr, nice job! you just made it easier for our spurs to whoop you again come playoff time.
hey suns fans, here's a conspiracy theory for you: ever wonder whether kerr is doing you in for the spurs? why trade a versatile defender, fastbreak finisher, and 3 point shooter in marion for an old geezer like shaq? if the suns last year really could've beaten our spurs minus the suspensions on stoudemire and diaw, why not give it another chance this year? hmmm.... interesting. thanks steve!
    GO SPURS GO!!!

Steve Kerr is DA MAN! He took a risk, which might not pay off at the end of the day. Too soon to label him a failure.
Who knows, maybe Shaq will wake up and deliver a title for the club. The transition is certainly not smooth (unlike Gasol's case).
Best of luck, Steve! Best of Luck!

They should have gotten Andrei Kirilenko for Marion. With AK-47 they would have buried all these fake as' gangstas like LA, Spurs and Mavs.
Well, it's certainly tougher to be evaluated than provide those evaluations. Come back to Yahoo Sports! You haven't been replaced here since you left!
