O'Neal, on first practice with Suns: "A lot of running"

Shaquille O'Neal practiced with the Phoenix Suns for the first time Monday but it remains unknown whether he will play his first game for Phoenix this week or after the All-Star break.

The instant reviews were that O'Neal looked a lot healthier than advertised but that it would take some time to incorporate him into the Suns system and get his conditioning ready for game play.

On his first practice, O'Neal said: "A lot of running. This is something very different for me. I'll just have to get in tune to what everybody is doing. When you talk about being a great team, everybody has to be on the same page. I don't want to be the one who slows us up, even half a millisecond."

    O'neal got his first practice..he shouldnt rush in his healing and conditioning process. better to be sure!!!!!

    should prepare well and not rush things so that shaq could go along the way without stopping

    Lots of running can make Shaq physically fit and healthy! I can smell a NBA ring for the Suns!!! =)

    This comment is for Steve Kerr...you need to pick up Andris Biedrins immediately!!! He is perhap falling out of favor in GS b/c of Weber and may not cost you much!!! Give them Diaw or Skinner and it is a done deal. The Suns needs his rebounding, he is quick on the board. You have to pull the trigger now!!!

    Can't wait to see the run down old timer try to run a fast pace game Wed against the Warriors, he will sit after 3 or 4 min into the game. Warriors -7.5, they better save him for San Antonio or Houston bcuz is GS way too fast and Suns will try to keep that pace.

    Joarby2 you are trippin, warriors bench Webber he doesn't play nearly as much as Biedrins he is there for show, and Andris is the future why would we take Skinner or Diaw!!??? Not cost much?!!! his contract year, he and Ellis are about to get Paid this summer!

    I think shaq will do fine in Phoenix. Every one thinks he is slow but he is as fast as flash. He is actually my homeboy and we race all the time. He runs a 4.6 40. ITS CRAZYDIZZZLE!!!! If u think he is slow u should not be a basketball follower. I am the swamy of bball. I KNOW ALL. if u have any questions i know. I AM THE MAN like shaq who is as fast or faster then steve nash, kobe and even dwayne wade. So dont say dum things if u dont know what u r talking about . Thanks u for listening to ur master.

    IMO Shaq needs to run more......if he can constantly make fastbreaks, he is still a monster inside......but first of all, Amare please put more dedication on defense, coz if Shaq joins fastbreaks, he can't go back to the backcourt within 3 seconds......

    go old dog prove them right you cant play back to back games and the west isnt the east where most of the teams have losing records including your last team.. old dog you need to bring it every night.. old dog you need to be put to sleep and the dogcatcher kobe will do it
