Will the real Los Angeles Lakers please stand up.
The Los Angeles Daily News raised the possibility that the team that lost by 15 to the Yao-less Houston Rockets Thursday night is the real Los Angeles Lakers.
The Daily News wrote: You have to consider the possibility that the Lakers just are who they are now, not what we thought they were. Right now at least, they are not the dominating team that steamrolled the Western Conference and conjured up visions of 70 wins earlier this season. Nor are they the offensive powerhouse that blasted Cleveland and Boston on their home courts back in February.
"We've played much better, and on a more consistent basis. But we're not (right now)," Kobe Bryant(notes) said. "The key right now is just to win by any means necessary. Just win the damn series, get the (heck) out of this one and be ready for the next one."

I think they need to look at trading McGrady and Yao to get a more durable center. I like Yao a lot but he cannot last the season and playoffs. They need a tough nosed mobile player to be able to compliment the style of the rest of the team. Yao is a bit slow and after however many years he still seems to lack the conditioning to last an entire season.
