NBA - Scoop Du Jour

It's not a done deal, but it's looking like 6-11 center Jermaine O'Neal(notes) is going to sign with the Boston Celtics, sources tell Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. O'Neal was choosing between Boston and the Denver Nuggets (with the Dallas Mavericks in the mix as well), Wojnarowski reports.

Wojnarowski reports that the 31-year-old 13-year pro is thought to have been offered a $5.8 million mid-level exception over two years.

Adding O'Neal would certainly help the Celtics fill the hole that Kendrick Perkins(notes) is leaving as he recovers from knee surgery for five or six months.

In other Celtics news, Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears reports that Ray Allen(notes) is re-signing with the team for two years and $20 million. The second year is a player-option.
