Feb 3 F Shane Battier began the second half with a rare two-handed slam and shout, and produced throughout the game to help key the rout. He made four of his six shots to score 12 points, adding five rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots. Yahoo! Sports

Feb 1 Battier has been playing with a sprained left shoulder that has bothered him since he became entangled with the Spurs' Tim Duncan on Jan. 22, but it became especially painful Friday against the Trail Blazers, the Houston Chronicle reports. “It's still sore as hell,” Battier said. “It feels better not getting hit (Saturday). It was good to have a day not running through the screens Juwan Howard and LaMarcus Aldridge were setting.”

Recommendation: Battier said the pain increased most when he fell after driving to a charge against Aldridge on Friday. On Sunday he said he was in pain “every time I drove the ball.” It looks likes Battier, who logged 45 minutes and pulled down 11 boards Sunday, will play though it.
