Mets RHP Jacob deGrom recorded a no-decision after throwing seven scoreless innings in a 2-1 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday at Citi Field. DeGrom's win-loss record remained at 6-5 despite pitching at least seven scoreless innings for the second time in his last three starts after Jeurys Familia blew his second consecutive save. The Mets scored two or fewer runs for the seventh time in deGrom's last 10 starts, and deGrom has not recorded a win in any of those. "Our pitchers, they live on the edge," manager Terry Collins later said. "It's hard to do every night." DeGrom has seven outings this season in which he has pitched at least seven innings and given up two or fewer runs, though
The Toronto Blue Jays extended the Baltimore Orioles' losing streak to four as they took the initiative in the grapple for top spot in the American League by winning the first of their three-game series 6-5. The Blue Jays were chasing from the get-go after a Mark Trumbo double got Hyun Soo Kim and Manny Machado home for the Orioles in the first, before solo homers from Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Troy Tulowitzki put the hosts in the lead.
