Veteran outfielder David Peralta opted out of his minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs on Monday and became a free agent. Peralta, 36, was batting .217 with two home runs and eight RBIs in 20 games at Triple-A Iowa. A 10-year major league veteran, Peralta spent last season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, batting .259 with seven home runs and 55 RBIs in 133 games.
