Player Notes
Matt Harvey posted a solid start in Saturday's win over the Dodgers, allowing two runs on six hits over seven innings.

Advice: The Mets backed Harvey with a whopping 15 runs and he cruised with the big lead. Jimmy Rollins and Joc Pederson took him deep for solo home runs, but those would be the only runs to score against the pitcher. After walking four or more in each of his last three starts, Harvey finally--finally--showed a modicum of control, striking out four against just one walk. He's the owner of a 3.16 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 116/31 K/BB ratio across 125 1/3 innings. A home start against the Nationals is up next on his schedule.

Matt Harvey was better at the plate than on the mound in Monday's loss to the Nationals, as he went 1-for-3 with a two-run single while yielding five runs (four earned) in seven innings of work.

Advice: Harvey was behind 5-0 after three innings before his own two-run single in the fourth brought the Mets back into the game somewhat. The right-hander walked four, allowed five hits, and struck out three. Harvey has struggled with his control in July, as he has walked at least four batters in each of his last three starts. He still has a decent 3.19 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP and a 112/30 K/BB ratio in 118 1/3 innings. Things will get tougher over the weekend, as he'll play host to the Dodgers.
