Player Notes
Mike Moustakas went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Moustakas opened the game promisingly enough, burning Angels starter Jered Weaver for a solo home run in the first inning. It would be his only hit on the evening, though, and an ineffective Edinson Volquez would ensure that the four runs scored by the Royals in the contest would fall in vain. Moustakas is hitting a shiny .267/.337/.613 with five doubles, seven homers and 11 RBI over his first 75 at-bats.

Mike Moustakas went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a two-run homer, driving in three runs in Friday's win over the Orioles.

Advice: It's five or six years after it was supposed to have happened, but Moustakas has asserted himself as a quality big-league third baseman at the plate. He's now hitting .290/.343/.661 with six homers, and his strikeout rate (10.4 percent) has dropped for the third-consecutive season. All in all, the 27-year-old has shown that his breakout performance a year ago wasn't all smoke and mirrors and, now, maybe the prodigious is finally arriving.

Mike Moustakas went 2-for-3 with a home run in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

Advice: Moustakas hit the home run, a solo shot, off Tigers starter Mike Pelfrey in the fourth inning. That seems to be the only way he gets them this year -- all five of his home runs this season have come with the bases empty. Moustakas is hitting .259/.317./569 with six RBI and seven runs scored in total.
