Player Notes
Brad Ziegler is unavailable should a save situation arise on Friday against the Angels.

Advice: Ziegler had a rough night on Thursday, blowing a save in the ninth inning in the opening game against the Halos. Matt Barnes would get the call should the Red Sox have a lead to protect in the ninth inning on Friday.

Brad Ziegler coughed up a 1-0 ninth-inning lead in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Ziegler entered in the ninth attempting to secure the win for David Price, who gave the Red Sox eight shutout innings. It was not to be. After loading the bases with one out, Ziegler surrendered an infield grounder to Daniel Nava. Enter Hanley Ramirez, who fired home in an attempt to secure the first out on what might have been a game-ending double play. That was the idea, anyway, but Ramirez sailed the throw high to allow two runners to race home. Ballgame. This was Ziegler's third blown save of the season, his first in eight appearances with the Red Sox since coming over from the Diamondbacks via trade earlier this month. He has now allowed runs in back-to-back appearances and might be in line for a breather as this four-game set with the Angels unfolds.

Thu, Jul 28 Rotoworld
Brad Ziegler allowed a go-ahead homer in the top of the ninth inning Wednesday as the Red Sox fell to the Tigers.

Advice: Ziegler entered a 3-3 game and retired the first two batters he faced -- Ian Kinsler and Jose Iglesias -- but Cabrera launched a two-out solo bomb to right-center to put the Tigers on top. Ziegler is still the best bet for save opportunities in Boston until Craig Kimbrel (knee) returns from the disabled list.

Wed, Jul 27 Rotoworld
Brad Ziegler is likely to see regular save chances with Koji Uehara (pectoral) landing on the disabled list.

Advice: Ziegler has made three scoreless appearances since joining the Red Sox, all in non-save situations. He has a 2.61 ERA in 41 1/3 innings for the year. Craig Kimbrel (knee) and Uehara are both out through at least mid-August, so Ziegler could suddenly have tremendous fantasy value.
