May 23 Schafter sprained his right ankle while attempting to make a catch in Saturday's 6-5 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Advice: Astros manager Brad Mills told the team's website that Schafer will likely be unavailable for Sunday's series finale. X-rays were negative but he's expected to have more tests Monday.

May 23 CF Jordan Schafer missed Wednesday's game with a flare-up of a toe injury originally suffered when he fouled a ball off his foot over the weekend. Schafer endured a sleepless night and was examined by a doctor Wednesday morning. "He tried to put on a shoe this morning and he couldn't do it," manager Brad Mills said. "Hopefully he'll be OK by the trip (starting Friday in Los Angeles)." Yahoo! Sports

May 23 Schafer is day-to-day following a flare-up of his recent toe injury, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Recommendation: Justin Maxwell and Brian Bogusevic will likely handle center field while Schafer is banged up, while there is no indication of a disabled list stint being necessary at this time.
