Jul 1 RHP James Shields starts Wednesday seeking to add to his staff-best 10 quality starts. The Rays have won five of his last six starts, and he is 3-1 with a 3.05 ERA in that stretch. Yahoo! Sports


Jul 1 Shields was tagged for four earned runs on Wednesday against the Blue Jays. He went 7.1 innings, striking out eight and walking only one.

Recommendation: Uncharacteristically, Shields allowed three home runs in the seventh and eighth innings. The dome was off at Rogers Centre which helped the ball carry a little. Chalk this up as a rare bad outing for Shields as he had only allowed one home run in his previous five starts.
