RHP Shaun Marcum, who is recovering from elbow surgery, is ready to appear in his first rehab assignment Monday when he takes the mound for Dunedin in a Class-A game against Daytona Beach. Marcum is also staled to pitch in next Saturday's game in Dunedin. Marcum is ahead of schedule after having Tommy John surgery performed last Sept. 30. |

The Jays placed Marcum (Tommy John surgery) on the 60-day DL Friday. Recommendation: He had already been on the 15-day DL for the entire season, but the team needed to clear room on the 40-man roster for Kyle Phillips, the new backup catcher. Marcum could still return late this season. |
