Marlins.MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports Florida Marlins OF Josh Willingham (back) is at least a couple weeks away from returning. Willingham likely will see a doctor in the next couple of days to get another medical opinion. He consistently states that the back won't require surgery. |

Willingham (lower back) is now thought to be weeks away from a return, the Marlins web site reports. Recommendation: "In my opinion, I might have been a little overanxious," he said. "I tried to do too much too soon, maybe, as far as swinging activities. Now I'm dealing with it." The team is now looking at late May or even early June as a target date for Willingham to get back in the lineup. |

LF Josh Willingham, out since April 28 with a lower back strain, said there's a chance he won't return to action until early June.
"Hopefully I'll do treatment and it clears up, and best-case, I'm playing by late May, early June," he said.
He received a pain shot last week and might get another one this weekend. |

Willingham hit soft-toss pitches Monday. Advice: Willingham, sidelined by a sore back, is eligible to come off the 15-day DL during the series in Cincinnati, but his return is uncertain. He is batting .341 (31-for-91) with six home runs and 16 RBIs in 25 games this season. |
