Player Notes
Blue Jays placed 1B Edwin Encarnacion on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quad.

Advice: Encarnacion suffered the quad injury Saturday while trying to beat out a double play relay throw at first base and could be out for up to four weeks. The slugger boasts a .277/.368/.591 batting line with 26 home runs and 70 RBI in 88 games this season. It's obviously a big loss for the Blue Jays.

Jon Morosi of FOX Sports 1 reports that Edwin Encarnacion will miss 2-4 weeks with his strained quadriceps.

Advice: According to Morosi, a trip to the disabled list is a certainty. That timeframe could change slightly depending on his evaluation in a couple of days, but fantasy owners need to find an alternative option for at least the next couple of weeks.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Sunday that it's "likely" Edwin Encarnacion will require a trip to the disabled list for his strained quadriceps.

Advice: The team plans to wait a couple of days though to see how he responds to treatment before making a final determination. It's likely that the Jays slugger will be sidelined for a couple of weeks, so fantasy owners should plan accordingly.

Edwin Encarnacion was diagnosed with a right quadriceps strain.

Advice: That's all the detail that the Blue Jays were willing to provide on his status at the moment. It's likely that they'll give him a day or two to see how it responds before making a decision as to whether he'll warrant a trip to the disabled list.

Edwin Encarnacion left Saturday's game versus the A's with right quadriceps soreness.

Advice: Encarnacion injured his right quad after trying to beat out a double play relay in the first inning. The injury looked pretty serious -- two trainers had to help him off the field. The Blue Jays are probably being vague with this initial diagnosis of soreness until they run him through a range of tests. A stint on the 15-day disabled list could very well be on the horizon.

Edwin Encarnacion suffered an apparent hamstring injury in Saturday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Encarnacion was trying to beat out a double play relay when he pulled up lame at first base in the top of the first inning. He had to be helped off the field by two trainers and will presumably be headed to the disabled list. Adam Lind entered the game for him.
