LaRoche went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday in Washington's loss at Philadelphia.
Recommendation: LaRoche ended an 0-for-19 stretch with his blast in the final inning Wednesday. He is having an excellent year to date, posting a .297/.392/.545 line with eight home runs and 33 RBI through 40 games. With no other potent bats around him, though, LaRoche could see his production dip if pitchers focus their efforts on him knowing his teammates find it difficult to succeed at the plate.

1B Adam LaRoche hit a solo home run in the ninth inning Wednesday off Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon, but he has struggled at the plate in the last seven games, going 2-for-24 (.083) in that span. Still at .297, LaRoche has been the team's offensive MVP for the first 44 games.

Advice: LaRoche is hitting .339 through 43 games. He's never hit better than the .285 average he posted with Atlanta in 2006.
