Jul 3 Morneau (groin) is in Friday's lineup at first base against Detroit, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Recommendation: He left Wednesday's game with the injury but it looks like Thursday's off day has him ready to play.

Jul 1 Morneau departed from Wednesday's game in the seventh inning with tightness in the left groin.

Advice: Morneau has been swinging a hot bat lately, and there doesn't seem like too much to worry about here. "It should be good to go by Friday," Morneau said. "We've got a day off tomorrow. We didn't want to make it any worse. I felt like if there was a ball to my right, a play I've got to dive for, I could have made it a lot worse. So it was just better to come out."
