Player Notes
Rafael Furcal (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Monday with High-A Jupiter.

Advice: Furcal logged just 18 at-bats during Grapefruit League action prior to injuring his left hamstring, so the Marlins plan to give him a full three weeks on his rehab stint. That means he won't be activated until May 6. Derek Dietrich and Jeff Baker will continue to fill in at second base for now.

Rafael Furcal (hamstring) could begin playing in extended spring training games on Monday.

Advice: Furcal has been performing baseball activities for a bit and is now nearly ready for game action. He had just 18 Grapefruit League at-bats before injuring his left hamstring and is expected to require as many as three weeks of rehab games. A return around the beginning of May seems likely for Furcal.
