Jul 1 1B Jason Giambi hit his 407th home run, tying Duke Snider for 43rd on the all-time list. Giambi entered the game with an AL-low .197 batting average, the third-lowest mark in the majors. His .152 average in June was the lowest single month of his career. Giambi told reporters after the game he was just trying to get Matt Holliday over to third and got a changeup up in the zone from Tigers RHP Justin Verlander. Yahoo! Sports


Jun 29 Giambi's average dipped below .200 briefly in Oakland's 3-1 loss to Colorado on Sunday.

Advice: Giambi's fell below .200 before his eighth-inning single snapped a 1-for-19 streak and bumped his mark to .203, still the lowest in the AL.
