Third-placed Sampdoria were fortunate to escape with a goalless draw at home to Bari in the last round. Paolo Barreto missed a last-gasp penalty for Bari while, deep into stoppage time, his teammate Leonardo Bonucci saw a goal wrongly ruled out for offside. Samp defender Marco Rossi admitted his side were lucky to claim a point. "After our defeat in Turin, it was important for us to react," he said. "We went into the game wanting to claim all three points but considering how the game turned out, a draw was a very good result for us. We can't always win but our aim is to go out in every game and give our best." Samp travel to Cagliari looking for their first win on the road since September 19.
