Pause the Animal Crossing game on your Nintendo Switch (your houses look great, we promise!) and grab a few quarters. We're going back a couple decades to play some of the classics. While it's hard to come by coin-operated game machines these days, that doesn't mean you still can't play those old-school technicolor arcade games like Space Odyssey, Pac-Man, Atomic Boy, Cosmic Avenger, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom from home.

Thanks to the Internet Arcade, over 1,700 formerly coin-operated arcade games from the ‘70s,‘80s, and '90s are free to play online. There are no plugins needed to run the Internet Arcade games on your computer, as it uses 100% Javascript, according to the website. The games available range from "bronze-age" video games to “large-scale games containing digitized voices, images, and music.” The Internet Arcade's mission is to provide “research, comparison, and entertainment in the realm of the Video Game Arcade” for developers and researchers, however, it's perfect for any of kids-at-heart trying to relive our childhoods.

While instructions aren't provided for the games, the basics are pretty straightforward. No joysticks or game controllers are needed, as everything can be commanded from your keyboard. To start a game, first press the power button. Then press "5" to insert a coin, and press "1" to choose a single player game. Your arrow keys will help you navigate and the ALT key typically acts as the action button. Good luck!
