Warrenville man who shot his girlfriend then shot himself has died

Jun. 6—The Warrenville man who shot his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself on Friday evening has died.

John Williams, age unavailable, died Sunday morning.

Investigators with the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and Aiken County Coroner's Office said Williams shot his girlfriend, Lacey O'Toole, 34, on Friday evening at a residence in the 100 block of Pelzer Street in Warrenville.

O'Toole died shortly after midnight Saturday morning at Augusta University Medical Center.

Williams died Sunday morning at Augusta University Medical Center.

The case remains under investigation by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and the Aiken County Coroner's Office.

Their deaths were the second murder suicide in Aiken County last week.

On Thursday afternoon, Aiken County Sheriff's deputies and the coroner's office were called to a residence on Summerhill Avenue in Aiken where they located Yoni Vargas, 37, and his wife, Rosa Salguero-Landaverde, 33, who had died from gunshot wounds.
