‘We are together’: Boston hosts first Pride Parade in three years

Pride is back in Boston after the parade took a three-year hiatus because of the Covid 19 Pandemic.

The LGBTQ+ community is all revved up for the first pride parade since the start of the Covid 19 Pandemic.

“It is my first time back here since 2019 and I am really glad that they are having it again,” says Alex, a parade-goer.

The celebration brought out the “who’s who” in Boston including Mayor Michelle Wu who waved to the crowd, Governor Maura Healey walking alongside the lieutenant governor and Senator Ed Markey.

“Boston is the number one pride parade city in the world,” says Senator Ed Markey.

People of all ages walked in solidarity during a time when the LGBTQ community feels their rights are being jeopardized nationwide.

“All these states passing legislation that is very anti-LGBT. It is very important that we have events like these to show that we are a community, and we are together,” says Alex.

“I am so thrilled that it is back, and this is a great representation of Boston. We are an accepting community,” added Alice.
