HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Metz, Moravec combine for no-hitter as Highlanders claim 15th sectional title

May 27—SEYMOUR — Blane Metz and Masen Moravec combined to throw a no-hitter to lead fourth-ranked Floyd Central to a 2-1 win over Bedford North Lawrence in the Class 4A Seymour Sectional final Monday afternoon at American Legion Field. Seth Newkirk's two-run homer in the top of the fourth gave Metz and Moravec all the run support they would need as the Highlanders claimed their 15th sectional trophy, and first since 2021.
