Sassuolo relegated following defeat by Cagliari

Sassuolo were relegated on Sunday following a 2-0 defeat by Cagliari and after other results also went against them, ending 11 consecutive seasons in Serie A. The club will join Salernitana in the second tier Serie B next season with the last relegation spot to be determined after the final day of the season on May 26. Sassuolo are 19th with 29 points, five points adrift of the safety zone with only one match remaining.
