Skull found in Louisiana woods identified as man missing almost 7 years

Remains found in a Caddo Parish wooded area in August 2021 have been identified as a man who has been missing for seven years.

Kenneth Wayne Cole was 32 at the time he was reported missing in November 2015.

On August 11, a passerby alerted police to a skull in the wooded area off Financial Plaza Drive.

Caddo Parish Coroner's investigators, Shreveport Police and a cadaver dog searched the area but found no other remains.

The last time Cole’s family had contact with him was on Nov. 16, 2015, by phone. He purchased a plane ticket to Las Vegas and was expected to leave on Nov. 20, but he didn’t make the flight. He had plans to move to Alaska with a friend but didn’t make it there either.

Detectives previously said there were no obvious signs of foul play.
