Revel scooter rider fatally run over by drunk SUV driver in Manhattan: cops

A 22-year-old man fell off his Revel scooter on a Manhattan street — and was fatally run over by a drunk SUV driver, police said Monday.

Revel rider Andreas Marino was zipping uptown on First Ave. when he lost control near E. 48th St. in Midtown about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, police said. He fell off the scooter, landing on the roadway, where he was run over by the driver of a 2021 Toyota Highlander.

The driver was headed uptown on First Ave. when he fatally struck the victim, officials said.

EMS rushed Marino with severe head and body injuries to Bellevue Hospital but he could not be saved. He lived on the Upper East Side, according to cops.

The SUV driver remained at the scene and was taken into custody. He has not yet been charged but police say he was intoxicated.
