Food illusions are popular among TikTok bakers and chefs, and this one from TikToker Amanda Schmitt (@randomschmitt) really takes the cake! Using basic ingredients, Schmitt made a cake that looked just like cat litter, and it was almost too realistic for some viewers.
The clip opens with a shot of Schmitt removing the lid from a litter box on her kitchen counter like a silver platter before the camera closes in to reveal the contents.
Schmitt dips a small plastic scoop into what looks like very soiled cat litter. She scoops up a chunk and gently shakes off some of the gravel before taking a big bite.

However, before viewers can even wrap their heads around the idea of someone ingesting cat litter, Schmitt addresses the camera, explaining that what she’s eating is actually cake.
From looking at the kitty litter cake, it’s difficult to comprehend that it’s entirely edible. Squished Tootsie Rolls and blobs of marshmallow fluff interspersed in a container of crushed chocolate and vanilla Oreos over a layer of cake crumbs made for an incredibly convincing display.
