Penn State merchandise overtakes Florida in Homefield’s ‘Big New Saturday’ sales record

Homefield announced the sale of its Penn State merchandise as a part of its “Big New Saturday” drop back on Aug. 7.

Penn State gear is now the best-selling in the site’s history, beating out second-place Florida and third-place Georgia with three hours to spare, Homefield announced on Saturday via Twitter.

“We were blown away and humbled, frankly by the response from Penn State fans but not surprised,” Homefield founder and CEO Connor Hitchcock said via e-mail. “We’ve got a lot of printing and shipping to do!”

The collection of Penn State merchandise include a tank top, T-shirts, hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts. Football, wrestling and ice hockey are represented among the school’s retro clothes. Hitchcock said that the company plans on releasing more Penn State merchandise in the future — “this is just the beginning,” he said.

Homefield announced an Ohio State line on Sunday to be released this Saturday, completing the list of Big Ten schools to have officially licensed products on the site.
