Hard to tell if skating fans are looking forward to Tuesday night’s opening of the women’s competition or dreading it. After Canadian skater Joannie Rochette lost her mother on Sunday, all eyes have been on Rochette and the Canadian team. Rochette plans to skate Tuesday night, although that could change at any time.
The Rochette story has taken some of the heat off of South Korea's Kim Yu-Na, who’s under a lot of pressure from back home to perform after a year spent in the limelight. The Americans are bringing a young team, and Japan’s Mao Asada may attempt a triple triple axel — no small feat.
Join former Olympian and world champion Elvis Stojko and 2006 Olympic silver medallist Sasha Cohen at 6 pm PST/9 pm EST to talk about these stories and more and to get their expert analysis on tonight’s competition.
