NHL rumors: Tyler Toffoli will leave Jets, test free agency on July 1

Tyler Toffoli has played for four different Canadian teams since being traded from the Los Angeles Kings to the Vancouver Canucks back in 2020. Toffoli will not ink an extension with the Winnipeg Jets after the team was ousted in the first-round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs yet again in 2024, at least according to The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun. “And while he enjoyed his time in Winnipeg after the trade this season, he's headed to market, which is not surprising.” After playing for five teams in four seasons — the Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, New Jersey Devils and Jets — Toffoli's play has earned him a lucrative pact in both value and term this summer.
