Devin Cooley's feel-good journey to the San Jose Sharks is well documented. Let's start with the negative because Cooley's last two games were by far his worst. Against the Edmonton Oilers, he allowed eight goals on 30 shots. Of course, not all of them were his fault, an argument that can be made anytime a goaltender has a terrible performance.
Coleman also had an assist, and Oliver Kylington, Adam Klapka and Kevin Rooney scored for the Flames (38-39-5). Dustin Wolf made 16 saves. Fabian Zetterlund scored for the Sharks (19-54-9). Devin Cooley allowed five goals on 23 shots before being replaced midway through the game by Georgi Romanov, who made 14 saves.
The San Jose Sharks feel they're in a good position from a leadership perspective as they begin preparations for what will likely be another tumultuous offseason. Before they traded him to the Vegas Golden Knights, the Sharks credited Tomas Hertl for the leadership he displayed thoughout the first half of what's been a difficult season when the team was without injured captain Logan Couture. Now without Hertl, and Couture still on the mend with a groin injury, the Sharks are pleased with how forwards Mikael Granlund and Luke Kunin have joined Mario Ferraro in filling the void left by Hertl's absence.
