The Winnipeg Jets took the foot off the gas pedal for just a few minutes on Tuesday night — and ended up getting run right off the road by a high-octane Colorado Avalanche club. A 5-2 loss at Canada Life Centre levels the best-of-seven playoff series at 1-1. Winnipeg had built a well-deserved 2-1 lead by the midway mark of the game and seemed in full control.
Kyle Connor had two goals and an assist for the Winnipeg Jets in their 7-6 win against the visiting Colorado Avalanche in Game 1 of their Western Conference first-round series on Sunday evening. Adam Lowry also scored two goals, Mark Scheifele had a goal and two assists, Josh Morrissey had a goal and an assist and Connor Hellebuyck made 40 saves for the Jets, who ended the regular season with an eight-game winning streak.
Kyle Connor scored twice and Tyler Toffoli broke a third-period tie to lift the Winnipeg Jets to a key 4-3 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday. The win clinched second place in the NHL Central Division for the Jets and home-ice advantage in their first-round playoff series with the Colorado Avalanche. Winnipeg (51-24-6) also stretched its win streak to seven games in front of its eighth sold-out crowd of the season at Canada Life Centre. Toffoli took a pass from Nikolaj Ehlers during a power play and sent a backhand shot past Seattle goalie Philipp Grubauer with 8:20 remaining in the third period.
