2 hidden gems on Commanders' 2024 roster you need to know
The Washington Commanders are far from a hot pick or even a dark horse pick to make the playoffs this season, but great watching options abound for fans of the franchise and high ceiling football talent. The Commanders of course brought in former Heisman winner Jayden Daniels to be their quarterback of the future this offseason. Daniels will most likely start from day one and he will be flanked by a scrappy and talented group of young players who should at least make things interesting this season. Daniels signed his rookie contract amid a QB battle recently and the situation surprised more than a few fans.

The Commanders got their quarterback, but it's fair to wonder if they took the right guy here. Jayden Daniels blossomed in his fifth and final year of college football, taking home the Heisman Trophy in a dazzling season for LSU. Daniels is on the older side and doesn't have elite physical tools as a passer, but is going to be an immediate asset in the run game. Drake Maye feels like a better pick, but time will tell. Regardless, the Commanders desperately needed a quarterback and they got one.

Love this pick for the Commanders. Newton has had some struggles with a foot injury over the past few months, but he’s as talented as they come for interior pressure players. He’s got a wide repertoire of pass-rush moves and if his foot is good to go, he and Jonathan Allen will wreck heads for Dan Quinn’s defense.

Shout out to the 2024 All-Juice Team! The Commanders grabbed a stud prospect to play in the slot for them. Sainristil is a competitive force who's not afraid to come downhill and hit people in the mouth. He’s got pretty solid chops in man coverage too. Nice pickup.
