Patriots Sign K Joey Slye
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed K Joey Slye. Terms of the contract were not announced. Joey Slye , 28, has played with the Carolina Panthers (2019-20), Houston Texans (2021), San Francisco 49ers (2021) and Washington Commanders (2021-23). The 5-foot-11, 213-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent out of Virgina Tech with the New York Giants in 2019. After being released by the Giants following training camp in 2019, he signed with Carolina on Aug. 1, 2019. Slye was released by Carolina after training camp in 2021 and spent time that season with Houston, San Francisco and Washington. Slye was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Patriots got a dynamite prospect in Drake Maye. Maye did a ton of heavy lifting for the Tar Heels last season and is a player with legitimate superstar upside. He's just 21 years old and has already shown flashes of elite downfield, tight-window accuracy to go along with fantastic running ability for a bigger quarterback. Home run pick for the Patriots as they officially start a new era for the franchise.
