Lions' Mekhi Wingo carries chip into NFL career: 'You've got to have that'

Defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo has a chip on his shoulder from sliding to the sixth round in April's NFL Draft, where he was scooped up by the Detroit Lions with pick No. 189. While that one was recently formed, the other is one he's carried his whole life as an undersized defensive tackle standing 6-feet, 284 pounds. “You've got to have that or it ain't going to be fun out there,” he told reporters at rookie minicamp. Wingo was an SEC standout in college, first at Missouri and then at LSU, where he racked up 19 pressures in eight appearances, including a five-pressure, two-sack performance in the team's ReliaQuest Bowl victory over Wisconsin.
