After putting together a breakthrough season on the field last fall, Rutgers football has made a jump in its computer numbers this spring. Following their first winning season and bowl game victory in nine years, the Scarlet Knights made a significant leap in ESPN's post-spring SP+ rankings, which were released Tuesday morning. Rutgers ranked 49th nationally according to the metric, which weighs “returning production, recent recruiting and recent history.” Rutgers stands at 13th out of 18 Big Ten teams in the latest rankings.
