Lehigh football has a new spin on the old adage that the early bird gets the worm. In this case, the hope is the early-bird Mountain Hawks will get the wins. Throughout its spring practice period, Lehigh has begun practices at 6 a.m. It's a new schedule that's part of a new attitude that will hopefully mean a new type of record for a program that has gone 3-8, 3-8 and 2-9 in its last three fall seasons and went 0-3 in 2021 during an abbreviated spring schedule due to the pandemic. The Mountain Hawks haven't had a winning season since going 9-3 and winning the Patriot League championship in 2016.
