Originally a third-round pick (76th overall) in the 1986 NFL Draft out of Delaware State, Taylor spent his entire 10-year NFL career with San Francisco. The wide receiver made two Pro Bowl appearances (1988-89), was a three-time Super Bowl Champion (XXIII, XXIV, XXIX) and is honored on the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-1980s team. Taylor amassed 347 receptions for 5,598 yards and 43 touchdowns. Taylor also made 149 punt returns, the most in 49ers franchise history, for 1,517 yards and two touchdowns. His 95-yard punt return against Washington from the 1998 season remains the longest in 49ers history.
