    Amgen shares jump after teasing 'encouraging' weight loss data

    Amgen, which is conducting mid-stage studies of its injectable drug MariTide, said that it was "confident in MariTide's differentiated profile and believe it will address important unmet medical needs." The company expects to have data from the Phase 2 trial late this year and said it is planning "for a comprehensive Phase 3 program across multiple indications," including diabetes. "Never Mind the Quarter – How ‘Bout That MariTide Update?," Piper Sandler analyst Christopher Raymond wrote in a research note, calling the quarter "sort of ho hum."

    UK's new climate action plan unlawful, London's High Court rules

    Britain's latest climate action plan is unlawful, London's High Court ruled on Friday in a legal challenge by three environmental campaign groups over emissions targets. Friends of the Earth, ClientEarth and the Good Law Project took legal action last year over carbon budgets set by the government in 2023 to meet Britain's target of net zero by 2050. Britain's new emissions targets were set after a 2022 ruling that Britain had breached legislation designed to help reach the 2015 Paris Agreement goal of containing temperatures within 1.5 degrees Celsius of pre-industrial levels.
