The 2020-21 college basketball season didn’t go the way we wanted it to for the Kentucky Wildcats, but preparations for next season to turn things around are in full swing. Once again, John Calipari is bringing in one of the top recruiting classes in the country, but he is hitting the transfer portal to fill out his roster for next season. Some schools are greatly benefitting from the transfer market by bringing in some of the nation’s top talent.
The Kentucky Wildcats have kept an important home state prospect in the Commonwealth, as 2022 kicker and punter Jackson Smith committed to the Cats Thursday. He made the announcement on KSR. Smith is the only player in the class of 2022 graded as a five-star kicker and punter by ProKicker and is a native of Danville, Kentucky by way of Boyle County High school.
John Calipari is hitting the transfer market to finish building his 2021-22 roster. Recently, Davidson star Kellan Grady announced that he would be transferring to Kentucky. This is a massive pickup for the Kentucky Wildcats, as Grady is an elite scorer putting up over 2,000 points in his career at Davidson and averaged at least 17 points per game each season.
