The Los Angeles Dodgers had one of their best offensive games of the season with an 11-2 victory against the Washington Nationals that saw them tally 20 hits as a team and included contributions from up and down their lineup. The bottom of the order has been an issue to begin the season, but James Outman provided the game-winning hit on Tuesday, and Gavin Lux and Andy Pages went a combined 5-for-10 during Wednesday's rout of the Nationals.
As George Bush once malapropped — fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice … won't get fooled again. Last week at Dodger Stadium, right-hander Jake Irvin held the Dodgers scoreless for six innings in a Washington Nationals victory. Getting a second look at Irvin Wednesday night at Nationals Park, the Dodgers roughed him up on their way to collecting 20 hits (including eight doubles) in an 11-2 rout of the Nationals.
The Dodgers have one of the strongest rosters in baseball, but a top-heavy lineup and a shaky bullpen could doom their World Series title hopes.
