Martha Stewart and Queer Eye Star Antoni Porowski’s Instagram Feud, Explained
Apparently Antoni Porowski has owed Martha Stewart an apology for quite some time.
In a teaser for Stewart’s aptly titled new HGTV series, Martha Knows Best, the thirst trap queen schooled Queer Eye’s resident food expert on poor Instagram etiquette.
On a video call with Stewart, Porowski pointed out that the pair hadn’t seen each other since her “famous Christmas party.” Sidebar: Imagine being invited to that Christmas party!
“Since I brought that up I would like to take this opportunity and apologize and explain myself,” he said in the Instagram video from July 30. Sidebar: Imagine being invited to that Chrismas party and doing something to offend Martha Stewart!!!
Apparently Porowski’s crime involved posting pictures from Stewart’s estate without tagging her on Instagram. Not only that, but he posted pictures with her pets but still did not tag. “My dogs! Not his dogs, my dogs! I was so offended,” Stewart said. “I was even more offended because you didn’t send me a thank you note.” The gall!
Once Porowski discovered that Stewart apparently “could not stop talking” about his slight, he looked shocked. “Martha, I will do better,” he promised.
Thanks to the video, as well as a slide-show post from @commentsbycelebs, we were able to piece together a paper trail. On December 16, Porowski posted a photo from Stewart’s stable. “Dear Antoni: this is @marthastewart48,” Stewart commented. “You did not tag me on this photo of my stable more the photo of my beautiful dogs Han, Qin, Bete Noir and Creme Brulee. We are bummed about that because you have so many followers and you ate my Christmas cookies!!! You were nice not to post the forbidden scenes and we thank you!!!”
Wait, forbidden scenes?!? I’m going to need some more information.
However, it did not end there. It seems Porowski may have thought her response was a joke because he posted another picture from her estate on December 18, writing, “Patiently keeping my hands warm by her fire pit until @marthastewart48 follows me back.” At least he tagged her this time.
Still, Stewart wasn’t having it. “I think we started a social media ‘feud’ which was not the point,” she replied. “I just wanted you to acknowledge my fire, my animals and my food which you seemed to love???”
Glad these two have buried the hatchet, ending one of the most unexpected—and aesthetically pleasing—celebrity social media beef of all time.
