The Lip Bar Launches Fresh Glow Bronzer-Blush Duos for Every Skin Tone

While foundation shade ranges are expanding, albeit slowly, bronzers in shades deep enough for dark skin tones are few and far between. Brands like Fenty Beauty, Maréna Beauté, and Prime Beauty have been working to create more inclusive shade ranges for bronzers, but, in my opinion, there's still a bit of a ways to go. Now, though, Black-owned beauty brand The Lip Bar is joining the lot with its first-ever, non-lip product, a bronzer-blush duo called Fresh Glow.

Before we dive into the new product, for unfamiliar, here's a little background on The Lip Bar. Its founder, Melissa Butler, first launched the brand in 2012 while she was working on Wall Street. Three years (and a whole lot of product ideating) later, she took The Lip Bar to Shark Tank, where the hosts grossly critiqued her and her partner's business idea. Despite the hosts' remarks, Butler and co. went on to launch The Lip Bar, which includes an array of lip products, and is now sold in Target and in its own Detroit-based flagship store.

But let's get back to the new product, shall we? The Lip Bar first announced it was launching a new, non-lip product back in January, and as a big fan of the brand, I was super excited and hopeful that it was bronzers. (Don't believe me? Check the comments and you can find @lareinanegraa begging for it to be bronzers.) Luckily, I was right: Fresh Glow, a two-layer, bronzer-blush duo, is indeed a bronzer. It comes in five shades, ranging from Travel Bug, the lightest shade, which is a light tan bronzer and shimmery peach blush to Staycation, the darkest shade, an "intense burgundy blush" and "glimmering, deep (rich ebony) bronzer."

The Fresh Glow is especially perfect for the summer months when you want to add some extra warmth and glow into your skin. Personally, the shade Double Date is the perfect combo for me because the chocolately brown bronzer would complement my complexion, while the bright shimmery orange blush, which could be used as a blush or a highlighter, would let me shine bright like a diamond just like Aunty Riri taught me.

As a supporter of The Lip Bar, it's super exciting to see how much Butler has done with this brand and how it continues to expand. I can't wait to see what comes next.

The Lip Bar's the Fresh Glow bronzer-blush duos are $20 each at thelipbar.com or in its flagship store in Detroit. You can also purchase a Fresh Glow bundle for $37, which includes the Fresh Glow, a lipstick or lip gloss, and a lip liner.

The Lip Bar's the Fresh Glow bronzer-blush is a 2020 Allure Best of Beauty winner. Check out the full list of Allure's 2020 Best of Beauty winners.
