The Kentucky basketball team’s pair of 2022 NBA Draft picks Thursday night kept the program in the lead all-time for first-round selections.

Shaedon Sharpe was the first off the board at No. 7 to the Portland Trail Blazers, and TyTy Washington followed at No. 29 to the Houston Rockets via a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Kentucky now has 57 all-time first round picks, 34 which were drafted under current head coach John Calipari.

North Carolina, at 53, was shut out in 2022 and is now tied with Duke after the Blue Devils had four picks.

UCLA (40) and Kansas (35) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

Alex Groza, selected by the Indianapolis Olympians with the No. 2 overall pick in 1949, was the first UK player elected in the first round of NBA Draft, which began in 1947 when the league was known as the Basketball Association of America.

Pro Basketball Reference credits Kentucky with 59 first-round picks, but three of those players — LeRon Ellis, Chris Mills and Rodrick Rhodes — did not complete their college basketball careers at UK and are not recognized by the school or NCAA.

Here is every UK player chosen in the first round, beginning with the most recent draft.
