Kawhi Leonard’s Love of Jolly Rancher Candy Inspired This New Balance Footwear Collection

Easily the most fun collection to release for NBA star — and well-known “fun guy” — Kawhi Leonard is arriving in stores next month.

The brand has reimagined the baller’s signature performance basketball shoe — dubbed the New Balance Kawhi — in two colorways with his favorite childhood candy: Jolly Rancher. The shoe will hit stores in the “Original Flavors” and “Blue Raspberry” colorways.

Aside from the Kawhi, the brand will also deliver a sport slide sandal, T-shirts and new-look iterations of the 327 lifestyle sneaker and its original basketball shoe, the 480 Low. The collection — which features the candy reimagined with Leonard’s deadpan expression — will be available via Newbalance.com range in price from $35 to $160.

New Balance Kawhi “Blue Raspberry,” however, will also be sold through the Foot Locker banners: Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, Eastbay and Footaction.

“Developing our first-ever shoe collaboration with Kawhi and the New Balance team has been a surreal experience,” Jolly Rancher brand manager Shannon Wilkinson said in a statement. “Collectively we were able to combine our absurdly, bold fruit flavors and our unmistakable fruit gang characters with Kawhi and New Balance to showcase a bold, unique and one-of-a-kind style in this collection. We’ve collaborated on some of the hottest footwear for the season and we can’t wait to wear them.”

Aside from being able to buy the shoe, the Jolly Rancher x New Balance Kawhi collection will be featured in NBA 2K21 for purchase at the in-game store and use on player avatars.
