It’s the Hayley Kiyoko x Bachelorette mashup we didn’t know we needed!! On Friday, the “Curious” singer debuted her new song “For the Girls,” which is the first single from her upcoming album Panorama, out this July. And although the song is already catchy enough to get stuck in your head all day, it’s the music video that has us feeling all !!!!!!!!

In the video (which, BTW, was self-directed by Hayley), the California native is basically living out episode 1 of a Bachelorette season while she stands in front of a mansion and waits to meet contestants. One by one, the limos pull up and people dressed in gowns and suits introduce themselves to the singer. And much like the show IRL, there’s no shortage of tears, toasts, and OMG-worthy moments. (During a scene, one contestant hilariously calls out another, saying, “I don’t know what it is you think you’re doing, but let me be the first one to let you know you’re not gonna win. I’m here for Hayley’s heart. What are you here for?” The drama!)

But! At! The! End! we’re fully thrown for a loop when we find out who the last faux-Bachelorette contender is. It’s then that Becca Tilley—who was a runner-up on Chris Soules’s season 19 of The Bachelor and appeared on Ben Higgins’s season the following year—emerges in a stunning gold, off-the-shoulder dress and smiles at Hayley. The Bachelorette cameo plot twist is truly *chef’s kiss* if we’re being fully honest, especially since Becca confirmed she and Hayley are dating IRL! 💖

When it comes down to it, “For the Girls” is an ode to women. Of the track, Haley herself said in a press release: “I love being a woman, and women have always been a massive influence on my life.” The song’s magic, therefore, comes from it “celebrating that love, highlighting our strength, beauty, and vulnerability. The music video is meant to reflect that celebration with a sense of humor and an expansive take on whose romantic story gets told.”

As for the Bachelorette-inspired storyline in the music video? It’s meant to “give representation to all of us searching for love while not taking ourselves too seriously. Being surrounded by queer people of many different gender identities and making art that feels relevant to us was the greatest gift. It was a reminder of how resilient this community is and how strong and confident we feel being our authentic selves together. No matter how you identify or who you love, I hope this summer bop makes you feel sexy and empowered.” We’ll cheers to that!

[Verse 1]
Ten out of ten, all in a line
The air is sweet when we’re passing by, yeah, ooh
It hurts a little, don’t get whiplash
Don’t forget that
Saltwater skin, hair in the breeze
Go eat your heart out like tangerines, yeah, ooh
Let’s break the tension like a Kit Kat
Yeah, you feel that?

[Pre-Chorus]
Save a kiss for the sun
Don’t you wish you could come undone?
Take a dip, join the fun
Just as long as you know that

[Chorus]
Summer’s for the girls, the girls that like girls
The girls that like boys, the girls, the girls, the girls
Summer’s for thе girls that run the night, girls
The change your lifе girls (yeah), the girls, the girls, the girls

[Verse 2]
(Ooh) Don’t wipe out, one look and it’s lights out
What’s everyone gonna do, let’s find out
It’s not wrong, it’s right now
It’s not wrong, it’s right now

[Pre-Chorus]
Way it hits on your tongue (oh, yeah)
Don’t you wish you could come undone?
Take a dip (take a dip), join the fun (join the fun)
Just as long as you know that

[Chorus]
Summer’s for the girls, the girls that like girls
The girls that like boys, the girls, the girls, the girls
Summer’s for the girls that run the night, girls

Surround me with the girls, I love being a girl
I’m ready for the girls, are you? (Ooh-ooh)
