Guest Opinion: We can't take a Soros-supported 'progressive' approach to crime, bail

I believe it is a fair question to ask — who is George Soros and is he trying to destroy America? We hear this name more often every month as the negative effects he is having on our country are being realized. His multiple organizations and his financial tentacles reach every far-left oriented group in this country.

He puts his billions of dollars to support and elect far-left district attorneys throughout the country and these DAs enact dangerous policies. The most obvious is this policy on bail where defendants with long rap sheets are still granted bail and released.

(What do many of them do when they are released? One — Darrell Brooks — drove through a parade, killed several people and injured dozens in Milwaukee after being released on $1,000 bail for a domestic violence case.)

This is apparently done because these defendants cannot afford bail or the rules for bail have been changed. Apparently, it is unfair to not provide them an opportunity to prowl on society while waiting for their trial.

It should not be surprising that a lifelong criminal has minimal assets and cannot post bail or should not be granted bail in the first place. Why is that society’s fault?

Criminals should fear being incarcerated. This is what is supposed to prevent anti-social behavior. We cannot take this progressive approach to crime. It is backfiring everywhere. The progressive DA in Philadelphia was just re-elected. Philadelphia deserves whatever damage Larry Krasner inflicts with his liberal policies of “restorative justice”.

Soros supports and inspires all types of dangerous leftist policies. Rioters are rarely prosecuted by Soros-supported district attorneys and governors.

Squad member Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich, is pushing a bill — the BREATHE Act — to close all federal prisons within 10 years. When questioned on Axios she mumbled and stumbled trying to make sense of an idea which is preposterous on its face. What reasonable America-loving person would vote for this radical to represent them?

How about San Francisco where shoplifting is essentially permissible as long as it does not exceed $950? If it is not a felony, why not take what you want? This policy will only encourage criminality and the level will constantly increase. How does that contribute to society by actually encouraging criminal behavior? When you start to normalize acts that have always been judged as anti-social and criminal, you have greased the skids to accelerating our decline as a country and a culture.

We need Republicans to restore order and concentrate on reestablishing the unique form of government enshrined in our Constitution. All this far-left ideology will destroy us from within and we need to stop this before it is too late. Tribalism enhances our division. The far-left has no idea how to govern. This should be quite obvious and not ignored or enabled by people who should know better and not be intimidated.
